Zubimendi on Juventus radar along with Amrabat

Start

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Juventus are looking at a number of midfielders this summer, including Martin Zubimendi and Sofyan Amrabat. The Bianconeri have made Teun Koopmeiners their number one target for the transfer window, but are looking at other options as well.

According to Gazzetta:

“The Bianconeri are eyeing a couple of key signings to strengthen and enhance their midfield. While the priority remains all-around midfielder Koopmeiners, who remains at the top of director Cristiano Giuntoli’s thoughts, attention is also directed towards the playmaker position. Hence, the moves for Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad and the inquiries about Sofyan Amrabat, currently on loan at Manchester United from Fiorentina.

The Spanish midfielder has been on Juventus’ radar for several months. Zubimendi ticks all the boxes except for Real Sociedad’s valuation (at least €50 million ), who hope to spark a bidding war for the academy product. What concerns the Bianconeri the most is the growing interest around the Basque club’s gem: in addition to Arsenal’s interest under Arteta, Bayern Munich have also shown concrete interest. These developments make Juventus’ path increasingly challenging. Notably, Amrabat has reappeared on Continassa’s radar, having been previously scouted by Juventus last August and having been close to a move to Napoli under then-director Giuntoli. Despite Manchester United spending 10 million euros on the loan, they seem reluctant to exercise the option to buy the midfielder from Fiorentina. Thus, Amrabat is destined to return to Florence in the summer, but not necessarily to stay, especially with his contract expiring in 2025. While the former Verona player is attracted to Serie A, Juventus are biding their time, weighing the pros and cons of what could also become an opportunity.”
