In a pulsating 4-4 draw at San Siro, Inter Milan and Juventus shared the spoils in a match that will be remembered for years to come. After the game, Inter midfielder Piotr Zielinski spoke to Sky Sport, offering his thoughts on the rollercoaster encounter.
When asked about any regrets, Zielinski admitted, “Certainly, there’s disappointment with this result. We could have closed it out by scoring a fifth goal. We didn’t manage to do that, and then Juventus did well to create the actions for their third and fourth goals.”
Addressing Inter’s recent defensive issues, Zielinski acknowledged, “It’s noticeable, yes. They break out too easily sometimes, finding open spaces to come forward with just one pass. It’s something we need to improve because last year, Inter didn’t allow these things to happen.”
Regarding his substitution, Zielinski explained it was due to physical discomfort rather than tactical reasons. “My hamstrings were getting fatigued. The pitch wasn’t in great condition, and I asked for the substitution because my legs were suffering,” he clarified.
When questioned about his role as a regista in the match, Zielinski responded, “I felt good, but I prefer to play further forward in my favorite position. There’s an emergency situation, and wherever I’m needed, I’ll always try to give my best.”
