Nicolo Zaniolo has asked to leave Roma in the January transfer window with reports claiming the Giallorossi have rejected an opening offer from Spurs. The 23-year-old has a contract with Roma until 2024 but his poor form and string of injuries means the club will look to cash in on him before the summer.
La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that the ongoing talks regarding Zaniolo’s contract extension with Roma seem to have hit a brick wall and the club are prepared to accept offers of €35-40m for their young star.
Gazzetta also suggest that the player has asked his entourage to secure a move away from Rome before the close of the January transfer window, with Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham and Leeds all following his situation closely.
Sky Sport Italia report that Roma have already rejected a bid from Spurs today as the offer didn’t meet their €35m valuation of the player. Should a deal go through, the Giallorossi are expected to make a move for Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi as well as a new centre-back.
