Roma wing-back Nicola Zalewski managed to snatch the Golden Boy award yesterday evening, labelling himself as the most talented under 21 player across the world.

The promising Polish international obtained a total of 1.2m votes, topping the likes of Barcelona’s Gavi, Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga, Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala, and many more talented prospects.

While speaking with Sky Italia, as relayed by Tuttomercatoweb, Zalewski expressed his emotions after winning such a prestigious award, highly praising Roma boss Jose Mourinho for believing in him:

It is certainly a unique emotion to be here, these are unforgettable days that are lived only once in a lifetime. I am very happy”.

“The finale of last season was very special, I worked hard to earn the place, now I have to confirm what is good. Mourinho is like a second dad, I love him very much because he treats me like a son.”
