On-loan Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaria could return to Turin as early as January after failing to play a single minute for Chelsea. The Swiss international joined the Blues in the summer as he wasn’t expected to feature in the Bianconeri’s plans for the season.
The Evening Standard now report that Zakaria is set to meet with Chelsea coach Graham Potter and the club’s owner Todd Boehly this week to decide his future.
Zakaria has failed to feature this season and there are suggestions he could his loan deal short and return to Juve in the January transfer window.
Speaking in a press conference yesterday, Potter insisted that nothing was finalised yet on Zakaria’s future:
No decision has been made. Denis has been training well, ready to help the team. There is no talk of anything. He’s an important member of the team, he’s been patient and waiting for his chance”.
