Yann Bisseck: Inter’s rising star Premier League Interest

Start

Yann Bisseck is quickly becoming one of the standout players in Simone Inzaghi’s Inter squad. The German defender, who joined the Nerazzurri in the summer of 2023 from Aarhus for €7 million, has impressed with his versatility and composure. His recent performance in Inter’s Coppa Italia victory against Udinese highlighted his ability to adapt across different defensive roles, further solidifying his value to the team. However, his growing reputation has not gone unnoticed, with two Premier League clubs reportedly ready to make a substantial offer for the 24-year-old.

Bisseck was deployed as a central defender against Udinese, a shift from his usual roles on the right or left side of the backline. His solid display earned praise from Inzaghi, who has been relying on him more frequently due to injuries to key players like Francesco Acerbi and the need to manage Stefan De Vrij’s workload. For a team competing across five tournaments this season—Serie A, Coppa Italia, Supercoppa Italiana, Champions League, and the Club World Cup—having a versatile and reliable defender like Bisseck is a significant asset.

The German has already made 17 appearances this season, including 12 starts, accumulating over 1,100 minutes on the pitch. He has contributed both defensively and offensively, with one goal and one assist in Serie A. Such performances have caught the attention of Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United, two Premier League clubs reportedly monitoring him closely. Scouts from both teams were present during Inter’s recent league match against Parma, where Bisseck once again delivered a strong showing.

According to reports from England, Tottenham and West Ham are preparing to engage in a bidding war for Bisseck’s services. Both clubs are said to be ready to offer £35 million (approximately €42 million), a figure that is five times what Inter paid for him just over a year ago. Despite recently extending his contract with Inter until June 2029—an indication of the club’s faith in him—such an offer could tempt the Nerazzurri into considering a sale.

Inter’s management, led by Giuseppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio, values Bisseck as an important part of their squad rotation under Inzaghi. However, they are also pragmatic and may evaluate concrete offers if they align with the club’s financial and sporting goals. For now, Bisseck remains focused on contributing to Inter’s ambitions this season while his future continues to attract speculation.
