The latest reports from England suggest West Ham want to take Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaira on loan with an option to buy. Juve are looking to clean house this summer, with Zakaria, Arthur and West McKennie all expected to vacate the midfield to make room for new additions. Previous reports suggested that the Hammers were expected to make a first bid for Zakaria this week, for a figure of around €18 million.
The Evening Standard now report that West Ham are proposing a loan deal for the 2023-24 season, which would include an option to buy the Swiss midfielder for around €18 million.
The figure and structure of the deal are reportedly not in line with Juve’s valuation of the player, thought to be closer to €22 million. The club are also looking to sell 26-year-old outright, rather than send him on loan again.
Zakaria joined the Old Lady in 2022 for a €8.6 million fee but has failed to find a place in the starting XI, spending last season on loan with Chelsea.
