Volpato dedicates his last-gasp goal to the fans

Start

Following the Giallorossi’s thrilling 3-1 victory on the road over Verona, Roma prospect Christian Volpato spoke about his emotions after completing the comeback.

After being subbed on the 57th minute to replace misfiring Nicolo Zaniolo, the 18 year-old served as the catalyst within the fixture as he scored a screamer following a pass that was cut back by Nemanja Matic in the 89th minute in order to seal all three points at the Marcantonio Bentegodi stadium.

As it stands, Roma have climbed into fourth place with a total of 25 points, only one point separating them from their cross-city rivals Lazio who trail behind.

While speaking with Dazn, relayed by Italian news outlet Tuttomercatoweb, Volpato provided his post-match thoughts following a very proud moment within his playing career:

You scored another goal at Hellas Verona after last year

“Yes, I don’t know what he has with Hellas Verona, maybe because my father comes from here”

The moment of the goal?

“Matic served me and I scored. It also happens in training and it happened again today. I have to thank him.”

What did the comrades tell you?

“I haven’t seen all of them yet.”

Who do you dedicate the goal to?

“To the fans, for those who came here from Rome”.
