Vlahovic’s future at Juventus: Renewal or departure – Meeting with Giuntoli on the horizon

Start

The future of Dusan Vlahovic remains a central topic at Juventus, both on and off the pitch. The Serbian striker’s importance to the team, his high wages (the highest in the squad), and his contract expiring in June 2026 make his situation a key concern for the club.

According to reports from Corriere dello Sport, Juventus’ sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has addressed the issue, stating: “We are in talks with Ristic [Vlahovic’s agent]. We have agreed to sit down around Christmas time, and on that occasion, we will understand what they want to do.”

The situation boils down to two options: renew Vlahovic’s contract or let it run down. The latter would force Juventus to sell the 24-year-old striker, who will turn 25 on January 28. However, selling Vlahovic could prove challenging, given his current wages of €24 million gross per season. Very few clubs in Europe can afford such a financial commitment.

While Vlahovic’s future is not an immediate concern, it is expected to become a pressing issue between January and March, barring any unexpected developments in the coming weeks. The Christmas meeting between Juventus and Vlahovic’s representatives will likely set the tone for negotiations and clarify the player’s intentions.

Juventus finds itself at a crossroads with its star striker. A contract renewal would secure Vlahovic’s future at the club and potentially adjust his wages to a more sustainable level. On the other hand, if an agreement cannot be reached, Juventus may be forced to explore transfer options to avoid losing the player on a free transfer in 2026.
