There’s exciting news for Genoa as the club have secured the services of Portuguese forward Vitinha for another season. The 24-year-old spent half of the 2023-24 season on loan with the Grifone and recently expressed his desire to stay months ago in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Sky Sport Italia now confirm that Vitinha will indeed remain with the Rossoblu, after the two clubs reached an agreement for the transfer.
Vitinha joined Genoa on the last day of the January transfer window on a loan deal with an option to buy. After several days of negotiations, Genoa and OM agreed on a transfer fee of €15 million for the player’s permanent move. As part of the deal, Marseille retains a significant buy-back clause, securing their interests in the talented forward.
This agreement ensures that Vitinha will continue to be an essential part of Alberto Gilardino’s squad as they prepare for the upcoming Serie A season.
