Hellas Verona have reportedly rejected an opening bid from Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton for midfielder Ivan Ilic. The Serbian youngster is making a name for himself with the Gialloblu and has already been closely linked with a move to Napoli in recent months.
TuttoMercatoWeb report that the starlet, a product of Manchester City’s youth system, is wanted by Premier League side Brighton who have submitted an opening bid of €15m.
TMW suggest that the bid has been rejected for now, given that Verona paid €10.8m for the youngster in 2021 and would need to pay City around €5m as a sell-on fee when they do transfer the player.
The 21-year-old has already made 75 appearances for Verona since joining them on loan in 2020, scoring five goals across all competitions, and is also of interest to Serie A side Torino.
