Verona considering Vasquez as Montipò’s replacement

Start

Verona are taking precautions in the event of Lorenzo Montipò’s departure and have lined up Devis Vasquez as a potential replacement. Vasquez spent the second half of the season on loan in Serie B with Ascoli and will return to parent club Milan this summer.

Gianluca Di Marzio explains how Verona have opted to safeguard themselves in the event of Montipò’s departure, with Vasquez being a potential solution. The 26-year-old goalkeeper joined Milan in January 2023 from Guaranì but never made an appearance for the Rossoneri’s first team.

Last season, Vasquez only played two official matches in Italy with Milan’s Primavera team before going out on loan this year. He started the season in England with Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship, making 10 appearances before returning to Italy in the January transfer window.

In the last six months, he spent time on loan at Ascoli, where despite the club’s relegation to Serie C, he managed to make ten appearances in Serie B.
