Venezia eye Belotti as Como exit looms

Start

Andrea Belotti’s stint at Como may be coming to an abrupt end after just six months, with Venezia emerging as a potential new destination for the Italian striker. The former Torino captain, nicknamed “Il Gallo” (The Rooster), has struggled to secure regular playing time under Cesc Fabregas’s management at Como.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Belotti’s desire for a more prominent role has led to speculation about his future, and Venezia appear poised to offer him the minutes he craves. Under the guidance of Eusebio Di Francesco, Venezia could provide Belotti with the opportunity to reignite his career while continuing to battle for Serie A survival.

Interestingly, one of Belotti’s two goals this season came against Venezia on December 8, perhaps catching the eye of his potential suitors. His other goal was netted against Verona on September 29. These rare moments of brilliance have been overshadowed by limited opportunities, with Belotti making just 15 appearances for Como, most of which were as a substitute.

The 31-year-old striker’s experience and goal-scoring prowess could prove invaluable to Venezia’s campaign. For Belotti, the move represents a chance to reclaim his status as a leading Serie A forward and potentially work his way back into contention for the national team.
