Venezia close deal for Antonio Raimondo from Bologna

Start

Venezia are  on the verge of securing a new attacking option for manager Eusebio Di Francesco. Following initial contacts made yesterday, the club has essentially finalized negotiations to bring Antonio Raimondo from Bologna to the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo.

According to Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Venezia’s strategy for their Serie A campaign involves acquiring another young striker with different characteristics from their key player Joel Pohjanpalo, who scored an impressive 23 goals in Serie B last season. Raimondo fits this profile perfectly.

The 20-year-old forward is set to join Venezia on loan from Bologna, ready to test himself in Serie A with the newly promoted side under Di Francesco’s guidance. This move represents a significant opportunity for Raimondo to showcase his talents at the highest level of Italian football.

Last season, while on loan at Ternana (who were subsequently relegated after playoffs against Bari), Raimondo made 40 appearances, scoring 9 goals and providing 1 assist. This experience in Serie B has prepared him for the challenges ahead in Italy’s top flight.

Venezia’s acquisition of Raimondo demonstrates their commitment to blending youth with experience as they aim to establish themselves in Serie A. The young striker’s arrival will provide Di Francesco with additional tactical options and depth in attack, complementing the proven goal-scoring ability of Pohjanpalo.
