Udinese’s head coach Kosta Runjaic expressed his deep disappointment following his team’s 4-1 defeat against Como. In a post-match press conference, Runjaic didn’t mince words about his team’s performance and attitude.
“I’m not happy with the performance, I’m not satisfied at all,” Runjaic began. “We have other reasons to be angry today, not just Solet’s red card. We started poorly, without intensity and the right focus. This is not the way to play against a team like Como, who were aggressive.”
The coach continued to voice his frustration: “Then we conceded a red card, but we did many strange things. I repeat, today I’m not at all satisfied with the team’s attitude and, clearly, with the result.”
Runjaic also addressed some tactical aspects of the game: “I never thought about playing with three strikers. The conditions weren’t right. In the future, it might be possible, but today we need to think about the team’s performance and team spirit. It’s not the day to talk about these things.”
Looking ahead, the Udinese manager emphasized the need for improvement and a quick turnaround: “There’s a lot of work to do, and we’re not thinking about the league table but about winning the next match. We need to think about redeeming ourselves as soon as possible. This is what I asked the boys after the match.”
