Following the decision not to renew Fabio Cannavaro’s contract, Udinese are set to appoint German coach Kosta Runjaic, who recently became a free agent after his tenure with Legia Warsaw ended.
Sky Sport Italia detail how Runjaic made a significant impression during his time with Legia Warsaw, particularly in the Conference League, where his team defeated notable clubs such as Aston Villa and AZ Alkmaar. These achievements caught the attention of the Pozzo family, the owners of Udinese.
Under his leadership, Legia Warsaw won a national cup in 2023 and a Supercup this year, while also achieving commendable results in Germany’s second division.
Runjaic is known for his modern coaching approach. In Poland, he notably saved Pogon Szczecin from a dire situation and remained in charge of the team for five years, from 2017 to 2022.
