Tuttosport claim that Paulo Dybala is trying to convince Federico Chiesa to join him at Roma, as Juventus look set to sell the Italian winger. Dybala made the move to the capital after failing to find an agreement on a contract extension with the Old Lady, a situation very similar to Chiesa’s.
According to Tuttosport, the possibility of Chiesa transferring to Roma is becoming increasingly concrete. His move to the Giallorossi would provide Juventus with part of the sum needed to convince Atalanta to sell Teun Koopmeiners. Roma’s coach, Daniele De Rossi, has already shown interest in Chiesa, offering him an environment where he could regain consistency and relaunch his career after a disappointing Euro 2024.
Meanwhile, Chiesa is at an impasse with Juventus regarding his contract renewal, which expires in June 2025. Thiago Motta has hinted that he won’t oppose Chiesa’s sale. Chiesa’s agent, Fali Ramadani, is currently very active in Rome, working to find an agreement between the two clubs and discuss salary terms with Roma.
For Chiesa, a salary of €6 million per season, equal to his current wage at Juventus, could be acceptable, even though he initially requested €8 million from the Bianconeri for renewal. At Roma, only Paulo Dybala currently reaches this salary level, and Dybala himself has personally advocated for Chiesa’s transfer, telling him, “In Rome, we’ll have fun.”
Chiesa’s transfer value is not prohibitive, considering his contract expiration in 2025 and Juventus’ amortization of his value on the balance sheet. Rumors suggest a figure of €25 million plus €5 million in bonuses. This sum would allow Cristiano Giuntoli, Juventus’ sporting director, to move closer to acquiring Koopmeiners, the priority target for the Bianconeri’s market.
