Tudor Wants Simeone at Lazio Instead of Immobile

Start

Reports from Italy suggest new Lazio coach Igor Tudor is keen to bring Napoli striker Giovanni Simeone to the club. The new Biancocelesti boss took over Maurizio Sarri earlier this week and is already looking to make adjustments to the squad in the summer months.

Calciomercato report that ‘Cholito’s entourage is looking around’, and opportunities in the market are not lacking:  in the January market, West Ham and Real Betis had tried to sound out the situation surrounding the Argentine striker.

CM claim that Simeone is reflecting on his future and has not made a definitive decision yet, but the possibility of leaving Napoli at the end of the season remains the most concrete. There is a backstory related to Lazio: at the beginning of March, Cholito’s agent had a meeting with the Biancocelesti executives where a concrete interest for the post-Immobile emerged.

Tudor’s arrival on the Lazio bench further strengthens the Simeone interest, as the Croatian coach ‘adores the Argentine’, who experienced his best season with him at Verona two years ago. before moving to Napoli, scoring 17 goals in 35 matches.

De Laurentiis is very fond of Giovanni and would only let him go upon the player’s specific request: in that case, the valuation would not be far from the €15 million paid to Verona for his transfer in the summer of 2022.
