Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur are close to agreeing a deal for Udinese wing-back Destiny Udogie with the move expected to go through very soon. The 19-year-old attracted the attention of a number of Europe’s top clubs, but reports suggest it will be Spurs that snag the player.
Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Spurs are confident of agreeing a deal with Udinese for Udogie, worth a reported €26m. Di Marzio suggests that talks are progressing quickly and the move could be concluded as early as next week.
Despite the move almost being complete, Spurs are expected to leave Udogie on loan at Udinese for the 2022-23 campaign, meaning he will likely feature in the Serie A league opener for Udinese against Milan next weekend.
The deal is expected to cost the Premier League side €20m in transfer fees and up to a further €6m in performance related add-ons.
