Torino sporting director discusses futures of Ricci and Adams

Start

Torino’s Technical Director Davide Vagnati has provided insights into the club’s stance on midfield talent Samuele Ricci and striker Ché Adams in a recent interview with Sky Sports. His comments suggest a mix of pride in the club’s acquisitions and openness to potential future moves for the players.

Regarding Ché Adams, Vagnati revealed a long-standing interest in the Scottish international: “I had been following him in the Premier League and tried to sign him last January, attempting to get ahead of the competition. However, they asked for a lot of money. I worked to make the player understand that a step in Italy could be good for him, potentially leading to a return to the Premier League or even bigger clubs. He has great qualities.”

When discussing Samuele Ricci, Vagnati was more circumspect about transfer speculation but highlighted the club’s satisfaction with his development: “I don’t want to talk about Manchester or not Manchester. It’s pleasing to look back on Ricci’s acquisition. We bought him when he was very young, and I must say it was a significant operation. The president believed in him, as did all of us, spending a considerable sum. The boy has been excellent, growing a lot in all aspects. I think he could play with any coach in any league.”
