On the final day of the transfer window, Torino are on the verge of fulfilling Paolo Vanoli’s request by bringing in Amine Salama, a 24-year-old striker from Reims. The Granata, following Duvan Zapata’s injury in October, had initially pursued Beto from Everton and Marko Arnautovic, but are now nearing an agreement for the French forward.
Calciomercato report that Torino and Reims are in the final stages of negotiations for a loan deal with an option to buy set at 4 million euros. The Italian club are eager to complete the transfer in the closing hours of the window to provide Vanoli with the reinforcement he needs to replace Zapata.
Despite Salama’s recent goal-scoring drought – he has played 17 matches for Reims in Ligue 1 this season without finding the net – Torino see potential in the young striker. Last season, Salama managed one goal in 15 appearances for Caen in Ligue 2 and another in 15 games for Reims in the first half of the campaign.
