Sandro Tonali believes Rafael Leao wants to remain with Milan as he has always been ‘at the centre of the project.’ Tonali and Leao were the difference makers in the Rossoneri’s 2-1 win over Salernitanta earlier today, and speaking to Sky Sport Italia, the midfielder was quick to praise their opponents who made it uncomfortable at times:
“Playing here is always difficult, especially in the last minutes after conceding a goal. They go forward with great strength and have a great set of fans. This victory is very important for us. We were almost perfect, even though we could have scored more.
We are happy with the three points, which are fundamental. It was important to give a signal. We know what we did last year and its importance, so we will defend it to the last drop of sweat. We are united and we have to go on our way”.
Tonali also spoke with DAZN about teammate Leao, who he believes will remain with Milan:
“He’s always been at the centre of the project. He doesn’t think about the transfer market. He’s a Milan player and wants to stay with us, we saw it even after the goal. We just have to keep him close and love him”.
