TMW: Fiorentina linked with audacious move for Federico Chiesa

Start

Fiorentina are making significant moves in the January transfer window, with sporting director Daniele Pradè working tirelessly to strengthen the squad. The club has already secured some key signings and is close to finalizing others.

TMW report how Nicolas Valentini has arrived on a free transfer from Boca Juniors, bolstering the defensive line. He is expected to replace Lucas Martinez Quarta, who is likely to return to River Plate once the clubs agree on a fee, with Fiorentina asking for €7 million. Manager Raffaele Palladino has also requested Pablo Mari from Monza, with the player open to the move. Matias Moreno could potentially move in the opposite direction.

In midfield, Michael Folorunsho is set to join from Napoli. An agreement with the player is close, and negotiations with Napoli for a loan with an option to buy are progressing. Folorunsho will effectively replace Edoardo Bove, who is unable to continue playing in Italy following a health incident during a match against Inter.

Regarding outgoing transfers, Cristiano Biraghi is expected to leave. While Fiorentina would prefer to keep Fabiano Parisi, they might consider offers around €10 million. Michael Kayode is not considered untouchable, but the club is reluctant to sell him outright.

The most intriguing rumours surround the potential arrival of a new attacking winger. Federico Chiesa’s name has been circulating in Florence, with reports suggesting he could leave Liverpool where he’s struggling for playing time. However, his high wages (€7 million) pose a challenge for Fiorentina.

Another ambitious target is Luiz Henrique from Botafogo, valued at €30 million. While these moves may seem ambitious, they reflect the club’s and owner Rocco Commisso’s aspirations to elevate Fiorentina’s status in Italian and European football.
