AC Milan’s Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders has confirmed his intention to renew his contract with the Italian giants. In a recent interview with France Football, Reijnders expressed his ambition to make history with the club and his desire to compete for top individual honors.
“My biggest goal is to win as many trophies as possible. I play football to write my name in the history books. I hope this is possible with Milan, with whom I will soon extend my contract,” Reijnders stated. He also shared his dream of becoming a Ballon d’Or candidate, acknowledging that it would depend on his performances and the trophies he wins with the team.
The new agreement is expected to extend Reijnders’ stay at Milan until 2029, doubling his current salary from 1.7 million euros to 3.5 million euros net per season, plus bonuses tied to personal and team objectives. Importantly, Reijnders will continue to benefit from the Decreto Crescita, an Italian tax decree that was in effect when he first arrived in Italy.
Reijnders’ 2024/25 season has been nothing short of spectacular. With 11 goals and 3 assists in 33 appearances across all competitions, he has joined an elite group of Dutch players who have scored 10 or more goals in Serie A for Milan. This list includes legendary figures such as Marco van Basten, Clarence Seedorf, Ruud Gullit, and Frank Rijkaard.
