As AC Milan prepares for the Supercoppa Italiana final against Inter in Riyadh, midfielder Tijjani Reijnders addressed the media alongside coach Sergio Conceição. For Reijnders, this match represents not only a chance to secure his first trophy with Milan but also the first of his career, following his previous stints in the Netherlands with Zwolle, Waalwijk, and AZ Alkmaar.

Reflecting on their recent victory over Juventus in the semifinals, Reijnders noted, “In the first half, we weren’t aggressive enough with our pressing and we didn’t take risks with the ball. In the second half, we showed that we could do more, creating more chances.”

Reijnders also spoke about reuniting with former Milan coach Stefano Pioli, who is currently managing Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. “It was nice to see Pioli; we joked around,” he shared.

Looking ahead to the final, he emphasized the importance of seizing this opportunity: “It’s a great opportunity; I have to play as if it were my last game. It doesn’t happen often to win a trophy. After this match, we will also focus on the league and the Champions League.”

Discussing team spirit, Reijnders acknowledged that the right mentality has always been present within the squad. He stated, “I think we need to keep gaining confidence, and beating Juventus gave us a great boost in that sense. We need to feel like a family, and that was a good sign.”
