Inter Milan forward Marcus Thuram recently shared insights about his experiences and aspirations in a detailed interview with TF1 during their Téléfoot segment. As he reflects on his journey in football, Thuram expresses his passion for the game and his determination to achieve more in the coming years.

Thuram reminisced about playing at San Siro while representing France against Italy, describing it as a “magnificent” experience. He cherished every moment, from singing the national anthem to the final whistle. The atmosphere of such a historic venue left a lasting impression on him.

When discussing the criticisms faced by the French national team, Thuram maintained a positive outlook. “No, it doesn’t bother me,” he stated. He acknowledged that criticism is part of being a professional athlete and emphasized that top-level players must rise above it. He believes that what matters most is giving your all in every match.

Thuram reflected on his role within both Inter and the national team, stating, “I try to give my best for the jersey, help my teammates, bring positivity, and make sure the group thrives and wins.” Despite facing scrutiny for not scoring as frequently for France, he clarified that scoring is not an obsession for him. “I’d rather play well and not score than score in a poor performance,” he explained.

On the topic of competition with fellow striker Randal Kolo Muani, Thuram described their relationship as friendly and supportive. “Randal is a friend… It’s a very healthy competition,” he said. He also expressed how much he misses Kylian Mbappé’s presence in the squad, acknowledging Mbappé’s importance to the team dynamics.

Thuram’s performance this season has been impressive; he has quickly accumulated goals and contributed significantly to Inter’s campaign. He noted that while they are not yet at their peak compared to last season, he is confident that hard work will lead them back to their best form. “Everything’s going great… I believe we’ll return to our best,” he stated.

When asked about his connection with fans, particularly those in France compared to Italy, Thuram humorously suggested that “maybe French fans should speak Italian.” He expressed gratitude for the warm reception he has received from Inter fans, feeling at home in Italy.

Thuram dismissed any feelings of pressure associated with playing for high-profile clubs or national teams. “I’ve never felt pressured,” he asserted. He emphasized that while there are many games on the schedule, professionals must remain focused on performing their best.

Looking ahead, Thuram shared his ambitions for 2025: “I hope to win another league title with Inter… It’s something that stays with you forever.” This desire reflects his deep commitment to the club and his understanding of what winning means in football.

While Thuram acknowledged that thoughts of the 2026 World Cup are premature, he remains focused on immediate challenges. “We take things step by step; with so many games to play, thinking too far ahead won’t help us get there,” he explained.
