Thiago Motta Wants to keep Matias Soulé at Juventus

Start

New Juventus coach Thiago Motta is advocating for Matías Soulé to be part of the clubs project for next season. The Italian-Brazilian coach envisions a team playing in a 4-2-3-1 formation, where wingers are expected to contribute significantly to the goal tally. Soulé’s impressive performance on loan at Frosinone last season, where he scored 11 goals, has convinced both the club and the coach of the Argentine’s considerable talent.

Calciomercato report that Motta has reiterated to Sporting Director Cristiano Giuntoli his desire to rely on Soulé for the upcoming season. In a recent transfer meeting, the new Juventus coach gave the green light for the sale of seven players, but Soulé was notably absent from this list. The players potentially on the move include Federico Chiesa, Dean Huijsen, Wojciech Szczesny, Weston McKennie, Arek Milik, Filip Kostic, and Moise Kean.

West Ham have  joined the race for Soulé, alongside Napoli, Borussia Dortmund, and Bayer Leverkusen. However, Juventus has taken a firm stance: only an offer exceeding €40 million could potentially sway their decision. Thiago Motta sees Soulé as a valuable asset for the upcoming season.

The likely departures of Kean to Fiorentina and Chiesa to Bayern Munich will further reinforce this position, creating more opportunities for Soulé in the squad. Juventus appear committed to developing Soulé as a key player for their future, resisting substantial interest from other clubs unless an exceptional offer is made.
