We could have done more in the first half, as they allowed us to build from the back. We lacked a bit of depth, especially on the wings. Udinese has great confidence at the moment, but we did well to stay compact and play our game.”

The manager also addressed the tactical decisions made during the match, including the choice to play Yildiz as a substitute for Vlahovic: “We have different players in the squad, and depending on the match, it’s important to have this diversity. In this game, Udinese exposed themselves at the back, so we chose Yildiz for his characteristics. Together with Koopmeiners, they trouble defenders who want to have a reference point, like how Vlahovic works.”
