Thiago Motta: “It was an evenly matched game. I think the result is fair”

Juventus manager Thiago Motta explained why his side’s 0-0 draw with Roma was a fair result.

Motta began by acknowledging the balanced nature of the contest in his post-match interview with Sky Sport, stating, “It was an evenly matched game. I think the result is fair.” This assessment reflects the tight battle between the two sides, with neither able to find a breakthrough.

When asked about Dusan Vlahovic’s performance, Motta broadened his perspective to include the entire team: “I liked the whole team, both those who started and those who came on. Certainly, we can improve on precision, and it’s not just Dusan who needs to do that.” This comment highlights Motta’s focus on collective improvement rather than singling out individual players.

The Juventus coach also noted the impact of Roma’s play on his team’s rhythm: “Partly due to Roma’s merit, we played at a slightly lower tempo. There are many things we can improve to raise our level.” This observation suggests that Motta recognizes the need for his team to adapt and elevate their game against strong opposition.

Regarding his substitutions, Motta emphasized the depth of quality in the squad: “We have many quality players. Today we only performed well in patches. Those who came on maintained or raised the team’s level. We’ll see from game to game who can start.”

Looking ahead to future matches and potential objectives for the season, Motta remained focused on the immediate future: “We’re looking at Empoli now. It will be a long season, and we’ll see where we are in the important months. It’s too early to talk about that now.”
