Juventus head coach Thiago Motta addressed the media ahead of a pivotal match against Fiorentina, emphasizing the importance of the fixture and providing updates on player availability. The Italian giants aim to maintain their position in the league standings with a victory against a formidable opponent.
Motta highlighted the significance of the upcoming game, stating, “Fiorentina, even though they haven’t won in their last two matches, has been performing well and was on a positive streak. It’s an important match that must be approached in the right way. The Viola have a very well-prepared coach, players of excellent quality, and good preparation. They know how to play good football and are a danger on counterattacks.”
The Juventus squad has received a boost with several key players returning to fitness. Motta confirmed, “The team is doing well. We have recovered some players who missed the last commitments. Douglas Luiz, Nico Gonzalez, Danilo, and Koopmeiners are back available. We still have to wait for Rouhi, Weah, and Milik.”
Regarding Nico Gonzalez’s condition, Motta explained, “He did differentiated work for two days, as he was a bit fatigued after the Monza game. Today I saw him doing well. Not even the players know the lineup, and I can’t tell you.”
Motta expressed his faith in Douglas Luiz, saying, “I hope and believe a lot in him. He’s been out for a long time. Surely he doesn’t have the physical level of some of his teammates. He can do everything and has proven to be a complete and high-level midfielder.” On set-piece duties, Motta revealed, “In the hierarchy of free kicks, he’s the first. Then Douglas and Vlahovic take them very well.”
When asked about the team’s strategy, Motta emphasized, “Certainly balance and intensity. Ball possession is not the only thing needed to win. We must do what we know how to do while paying attention to their transitions.”
Addressing potential transfer activity, Motta stated, “I am in tune with the club. If we can improve the team, something will be done. I am 200% focused on having a great game tomorrow.”
