Thiago Motta considers promoting Livano Comenencia for Juventus-Lazio clash

Start

Juventus manager Thiago Motta is reportedly considering calling up young talent Livano Comenencia to the first team for the upcoming match against Lazio. The potential promotion comes as Juventus faces a potential shortage on the wings due to injuries and Francisco Conceicao’s controversial suspension.

Tuttosport report how Comenencia, a 20-year-old right winger, joined Juventus from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2023 for approximately €450,000. Despite attracting interest from Belgian clubs Genk and Union Saint-Gilloise in recent months, he remained with Juventus, making eight appearances and providing one assist for Paolo Montero’s struggling Next Gen side in Serie C.

Currently, Comenencia is on international duty with Curaçao for their CONCACAF Nations League matches. However, he eagerly awaits a potential call-up to the first team, a goal he has been working towards for over a year. If selected, it would serve as additional motivation for the young player to accelerate his development process, which is still ongoing in the Next Gen setup.

Motta will closely observe Comenencia’s progress and make a decision based on the team’s needs for the Lazio match. The promotion, if it materializes, would not only be a significant opportunity for Comenencia but also highlight Juventus’ commitment to nurturing young talent from their academy system.
