Ahead of the crucial match against AC Milan, Juventus coach Thiago Motta addressed the media in a press conference, sharing insights on his team’s preparations and player updates.
Motta expressed confidence in his squad’s readiness, stating, “The team is doing well; we have recovered and are preparing for the next match.” He highlighted the positive impact of new signing Alberto Costa, saying, “Alberto has brought energy and enthusiasm; I am sure he will be an additional player who can help the team.”
Regarding young talent Andrea Cambiaso, Motta confirmed, “I see him very well, and tomorrow he will play.” The coach also discussed Randal Kolo Muani’s arrival, noting, “I am happy with his arrival; it is interesting. We are waiting for some bureaucratic procedures for the transfer. If everything is okay, he will be with the group; otherwise, we will wait.”
When asked about playing with two strikers, Motta stated, “All good players can play together.” He also addressed the goalkeeping situation, mentioning Mattia Perin’s recent absence and confirming that “Di Gregorio will be the starting goalkeeper tomorrow.” He expressed satisfaction with the performance of all his goalkeepers.
As for the attacking capabilities of AC Milan, Motta acknowledged their quality: “We are talking about high-level players used to playing important matches. The key is to be ready to perform at our best to achieve victory.”
On the physical condition of his players, he remarked, “The team has always been in good physical shape. We have had some difficult situations with players due to physical issues, but those who have taken the field have done well.” He confirmed that Dusan Vlahovic would join the group for training but noted that Gleison Bremer and others would remain unavailable.
Motta emphasized his expectations for Kolo Muani: “I expect everything from him—he is an excellent player who can contribute both on and off the field.”
Reflecting on previous encounters with Milan, he said, “I think the first match was played according to our situations at that time. We are not satisfied with our recent draws; we have performed well but it hasn’t been enough. We want to be at the top and work every day for victory.”
Addressing transfer rumors, he stated about Cambiaso: “I see him very well; that’s why he will play. I don’t like to talk about market speculation. I can assure you that Andrea is doing great and will be on the field tomorrow.”
Finally, Motta shared his perspective on coaching from a higher vantage point: “Seeing the game from above gives a different emotion. I have seen a team that is improving significantly. There are still technical errors to address, but modern technology allows us to analyze movements better than before.”
