Alessandro Canovi, the agent of Thiago Motta, recently spoke to Rai 2 about his client’s move to Juventus and his initial impressions of the club. Canovi shared insights into Motta’s transition and the interest from other top clubs.
Canovi stated, “Thiago has immersed himself very well in the Juve adventure. He is very happy to be at a club with few equals in the world. His enthusiasm is at its highest levels, and he is convinced he can do very well.”
When asked about interest from other clubs, Canovi confirmed, “Milan, Napoli, and English clubs wanted him too? Some of these clubs had contacted me to talk about Thiago.” However, he emphasized that the choice to join Juventus was straightforward, saying, “The choice of Juve was simple. We’re talking about one of the best clubs in the world and historically the most important in Italy.”
Canovi praised Juventus’ sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, for his communication skills: “Giuntoli knows very well how to communicate his ideas. It wasn’t difficult to understand each other, and you can see it from how they are planning all the operations together.”
The agent also revealed that Motta remained focused on his duties at Bologna until quite late in the season: “Until April, Thiago only thought about Bologna. There were other interested clubs too, so much so that we only signed the contract with Juventus on June 14th.”
