Arthur, the Brazilian midfielder, finds himself in a peculiar situation at Juventus. As the only player who failed to secure a move away from the club during the summer transfer window, Arthur’s future remains uncertain.
The 27-year-old had been linked with a potential move to Napoli, but negotiations never materialized, leaving him without a new team. Currently excluded from the Juventus squad, Arthur continues to train in Turin, awaiting future opportunities and the reopening of the transfer window.
Calciomercato report that Despite being sidelined, Arthur maintains a rigorous training regimen at the Continassa training ground. He trains alone, supervised by a Juventus fitness coach, following a daily routine with one rest day per week. However, his training schedule is separate from that of Thiago Motta’s first-team squad.
Arthur’s high wages present a significant obstacle to any potential transfer. The Brazilian earns a net salary of 5 million euros per season, which translates to a gross cost of 5.55 million euros for Juventus. This substantial wage bill complicates transfer negotiations, as few clubs are willing to take on such a financial burden.
With his contract set to expire on June 30, 2026, Juventus faces a challenge in offloading the player. The club is keen to reduce costs and optimize financial resources, making Arthur’s situation particularly problematic.
Federico Pastorello, Arthur’s agent, addressed the situation a month ago, expressing regret over his client’s lack of playing time. He acknowledged the club’s decision and indicated that they would seek a new solution for Arthur in January, mentioning potential interest from Marseille and Roberto De Zerbi.
Arthur joined Juventus from Barcelona in the summer of 2020 as part of a swap deal involving Miralem Pjanic. He made 63 appearances and scored one goal for the Bianconeri over two seasons before being loaned out to Liverpool in 2022-23 and Fiorentina in 2023-24.
