Former Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi believes Alessandro Del Piero is ‘the right person at the right time’ for the club to start over with. The Bianconeri are going through a period of turmoil following Andrea Agnelli’s resignation as club president with Maurizio Scanavino and Gianluca Ferrero being appointed in the most senior roles. Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Tacchinardi shared his thoughts on the situation with Del Piero his favourite to take a role in the new management team:
“Ale would be the right person at the right time: Juventus would do well to restart with him after the tsunami of the last few days with the resignation of Andrea Agnelli and the entire board of directors.
Juventus, after the corporate restructure, needs a football figure of depth – and from Juventus – to flank great professionals such as d.g. Maurizio Scanavino and president Gianluca Ferrero.
His football expertise, his charisma, should be ‘exploited.’ The return of Del Piero, perhaps in the role of vice president, would help both Federico Cherubini and Max Allegri.”
