Serbian national team coach Dragan Stojkovic insists he is not worried about striker Dusan Vlahovic, despite his recent poor run of form. The 22-year-old has struggled to find the net in two recent defeats for the Bianconeri and has looked a frustrated figure. Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Stojkovic believes Vlahovic will return to his best in time:
No, I’m not worried about Dusan. I’m interested in him being physically fit. He’s always scored goals and will continue to do so. Everyone sees that the Vlahovic from Serbia is different from that of Juventus, but it is not my problem.
Everyone always expects a lot from Dusan and in top clubs like the Bianconeri, when you don’t win, the pressure is very high for the attackers. But Vlahovic is not debated: he is a top player.
Advice for Dusan? In the national team we spoke, but you’d have to ask Dusan what we talked about…”
Will he score in the derby? Yes, Dusan scores and then pays for everyone’s dinner after the game. I don’t know where we’re going with the kids, but we usually eat fish.
Kostic? Filip must be given time to settle in a very tactical and difficult championship like Serie A. If Juventus results improve, people’s perception of Kostic will also be different.
Allegri? I’ve always been a fan of him and still am. Max is very intelligent and I’m sure he will find the solution to lift Juventus. Tomorrow, however, I expect a tough derby. The bianconeri need to win, but Toro is a team that can surprise.”
