Stefan de Vrij has confirmed to media that he is in dialogue with Inter over a contract renewal.
De Vrij, 31, has five months left on his current deal with Nerazzurri for whom he has made 186 appearances across five seasons.
The Netherlands international has, admittedly, struggled to cement himself in Simone Inzaghi’s starting lineup this year. He has remained on the bench as an unused substitute on eight occasions in Serie A.
Following his expiration with Rafaela Pimenta’s agency, De Vrij elected to change representatives. Federico Pastorello of P&P Sport Management is currently engaged in talks with Inter as De Vrij’s agent.
After yesterday’s goalless draw with Sampdoria, De Vrij opened up about his agents’ recent allegation that clubs in Spain (rumoured to be the two Madrid giants) have been in contact with him regarding the centre-back. Pastorello had previously revealed to that: “Inter called me to speed up negotiations to extend with De Vrij.”
The Dutch defender detailed to Rai News:
“I have very good relations with the club, we are talking about it. When there is news, you will find out. I concentrate on my work, those are the words my agent said.”
