Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on the signing of Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario. The versatile shot-stopper has already been linked with Juventus, Roma, and most recently, Inter, who looked to be closely in on his signing. The Nerazzurri reportedly viewed him as a perfect replacement for Andre Onana, if they were to sell the Cameroonian.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano now reports that a deal between Empoli and Spurs is close to being agreed, with the North London side prepared to offer €19million for the goalkeeper.
Romano reports that personal terms between Vicario and Spurs have already been agreed, leaving just the transfer fee to be finalised between the two clubs.
The Italian keeper was a product of the Udinese youth academy and spent time on loan with Venezia and Cagliari before cementing a place in the Empoli starting XI.
