SportItalia: Milan closing in on Fofana and Pavlovic, talks ongoing for Samardzic

Start

AC Milan are  gearing up for a crucial week in the transfer market, with multiple targets in their sights and a number of deals potentially close to completion. The club is not only focused on finalizing the deal for Strahinja Pavlovic with Salzburg but also keen on securing Youssouf Fofana’s signature before other clubs can intervene.

SportItalia journalist Alfredo Pedulla reports that there’s a sense of optimism surrounding the Fofana negotiations, with club owner Cardinale’s arrival in the city expected to expedite the process. Milan are working on the dossier for the Monaco midfielder, whose contract is set to expire. The club aims to reach an agreement on the transfer fee, with expectations set around €20 million , including a fixed base of €14-15 million. This figure is significantly lower than the rumored €30 million, which seems unlikely given Fofana’s contract situation.

Time is of the essence for Milan, as they seek to fulfill Fofana’s desire to join the club while avoiding potential competition from rival teams. The Rossoneri are actively working on this front.

Regarding Lazar Samardzic, Monday was identified as a crucial day for negotiations. Discussions with the player’s father have progressed well, with an agreement on commissions likely to fall within Milan’s limit of 5 million euros. However, reaching an agreement with Udinese remains a challenge. The Friulian club has consistently rejected offers around 15 million for Samardzic, holding out for at least 20 million plus bonuses.

Milan’s interest in Samardzic is mutual, but closing the deal hinges on finding common ground with Udinese. The coming days will be pivotal in determining the outcome of these potential transfers for the Rossoneri.
