Juventus are through to the semi-finals of the Europa League but it was a nervy ending to a hard fought match against Sporting Lisbon, with Adrien Rabiot being decisive at both ends.
Juventus
Szczesny: Didn’t really have a save to make in the opening half and could do nothing on the penalty. Reliable enough to see the game out. 6.0/10
Danilo: Good distribution and positioning to begin with but he played a part in the Sporting penalty and his second half performance left something to be desired. Some vital late clearances when called on. 6.0/10
Bremer: Solid enough without having to be at his absolute best. 6.0/10
Sandro: Mixed bag, good getting forward at times, made one vital clearance and set up the opener, but also played his part in the penalty. Made a vital late clearance to deny Sporting. Redeemed. 6.5/10
Cuadrado: Reliable in the opening exchanges, completing all of his passes and long balls but needed to be better on his crosses. 6.5/10
Miretti: A little too anonymous in the opening half, never really got into the game to begin with, but was better as things progressed. 6.0/10
Locatelli: Steady influence in the centre of the pitch but needed to do more in the final third. 6.0/10
Rabiot: Took his goal with an instinctive and cool finish but also gave away a sloppy penalty to draw Sporting level. 6.5/10
Chiesa: Kept quiet for large spells and never really got going in the first 45′. Better in the second half. 6.0/10
Di Maria: Some half chances aside, he failed to make any telling contribution in the match. 6.0/10
Vlahovic: Sporting did a good job to keep him boxed in but he struggled in general, missing some half chances to add to Juve’s tally. Disappointing. 5.5/10
Substitutions:
Gatti: 5.5/10
Kostic: 5.0/10
