Italian national team coach Luciano Spalletti attended the Gran Galà del Calcio event in Milan, where he shared his thoughts on various topics, including the health of Fiorentina’s Edoardo Bove and the state of Italian football.

Reflecting on the significance of the event, Spalletti stated, “This is a beautiful evening that honors the quality of Italian football. Everyone who comes from abroad speaks of great difficulties regarding strategies and quality of play. They say our level is high.”

Discussing the future of young players in Italy, he remarked, “There are many young talents showing their qualities, which are important for building a future. The youth national teams reflect this well; we have won significant tournaments and are well-positioned for the future. I believe we are also on the right path now; in the Nations League, we saw some interesting things, and we must continue along this route. Even in our last match, despite losing, we showcased some qualities.”

Spalletti acknowledged the support from clubs in developing young talent: “Clubs are facilitating my work; many teams are placing more trust in young players. Germany itself has brought in many youngsters to improve their results. The clubs help us, but we also need enthusiasm and a willingness to support Italy, which is always a challenging situation.”

On the topic of Bove’s health scare during a match, Spalletti said, “I haven’t spoken to him yet. Today he will have received thousands of messages from people. It’s clear that our affection and love for football go out to him. We send him our warmest regards from this evening.”
