Sky Sport Italia: Roma have a concrete Interest in Frattesi

Start

Roma have rekindled their pursuit of Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi, signalling a potential return for the player who once graced their youth academy. The 25-year-old Italian international, who has found playing time limited at Inter this season, has emerged as a concrete target for the Giallorossi.

Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports how Frattesi’s journey has come full circle, with Roma now showing keen interest in bringing him back to the club that nurtured his early career before selling him to Sassuolo in July 2017. The midfielder appears open to hearing Roma’s proposal, largely due to his current situation at Inter, where he has struggled to secure a regular starting position.

This season, Frattesi has made 21 appearances across all competitions for Inter, contributing three goals and one assist. However, only eight of these appearances have been as a starter, leaving the player unsatisfied with his role in the team.

Roma’s interest is not new; they attempted to bring Frattesi back before his move to Inter a year and a half ago. Now, with the player’s discontent growing, the capital club sees an opportunity to finally secure his services.

Despite Roma’s interest and Frattesi’s willingness to consider a move, Inter Milan has made it clear they have no intention of selling the midfielder during the January transfer window. The Nerazzurri’s valuation of Frattesi remains high, reflecting the substantial investment they made in acquiring him last summer.

Interestingly, Roma are not considering a potential swap deal involving their captain, Lorenzo Pellegrini, preferring to pursue Frattesi independently.
