Skriniar: “Inter? I never regretted my choice”

Start

Former Inter defender Milan Skriniar says he doesn’t regret leaving the Nerazzurri to join PSG, despite struggling to secure a regular starting spot. The 29-year-old Slovakian international made the switch from Milan to Paris last summer, leaving Inter as a free agent, despite reports suggesting he was in talks to renew his contract with Inter. Speaking with SportWeb, Skriniar assessed his debut season with the Parisians, insisting he doesn’t regret the move to the Ligue 1 champions:

“Until my injury, I was one of the most utilized players on the team. I was supposed to be out for four and a half months, but I returned earlier. After the injury, things could have gone better. There’s a lot of competition and you fight for a place. When the coach needed me, I was ready even for five, ten minutes… and I’m happy I played all the matches at the end of the season.”

“Leaving PSG? I didn’t pay attention to such rumors. My wife, father, mother, and brother asked me about it too. I didn’t hear anything like that from the coach or the club. No one told me that I wasn’t part of their plans or that I should look for a new place. Quite the opposite. I was calm and reassured my family as well. The injury slowed me down, but I’m moving forward. I feel good in Paris and have never regretted taking this step. It’s an excellent club in every aspect. The three trophies we won have been added to my collection.”
