Milan Skriniar’s agent Roberto Sistici says, at the moment, there is ‘no possibility’ of the defender remaining at Inter. The Slovak International had reportedly been in talks with the Nerazzuri over a contract extension, but failed to agree terms with the club and now looks set to depart. Speaking to Telenord (via FCInter1908) Sistici clarified the situation and explained why his client is leaving:
“The truth is that the decision to put Milan Skriniar on the market was made this summer by Inter, obviously not by the player. It was a choice of the club that led to a negotiation between Inter and PSG, about which we were obviously informed.
At a certain point the negotiation broke down and we had been informed of this step as well, a decision that was not up to us and that the player calmly accepted, with professionalism and absolute respect for the contract.
Last autumn we responded to all meeting requests made by the Company, after a series of preliminary meetings we presented our own economic request, and then, at the beginning of November 2022, the Company presented us with a proposal. About a month later, before Christmas, I informed Inter of the decision not to accept their proposal. A choice reiterated in early January, before the Super Cup Final, when I also informed Nerazzurri executives Marotta and Ausilio that we considered ourselves free to listen to offers from other clubs.
It may not have been an obligatory communication, but it was for the player and myself the most correct way to proceed, knowing that seriousness and transparency are for us the best way to proceed. I repeat, we never missed any appointment with Inter.
Other teams? Of Psg we have not spoken, just as we have not been the ones to leak our and Inter’s positions, since, with Inter, we had agreed to handle it with proper confidentiality, in the interest of serenity and performance of the team and the player I assist.
But are here contacts with some clubs? Not Italian teams.
Is there a chance Skriniar will renew his contract with Inter before it expires in June? At the moment there is no such possibility. Those who know Milan also know his professionalism and loyalty, they know very well that he will always honor the shirt of the club for which he is registered, a club that has given him a lot and to which he will give his best, as always.”
