Marko Arnautovic’s future at Inter Milan remains uncertain as the January transfer window approaches. The Austrian striker has struggled to secure regular playing time under Simone Inzaghi, and recent reports from Spain suggest a potential exit route.
According to Spanish media, Sevilla has expressed interest in acquiring Arnautovic. The Andalusian club is reportedly in search of a striker to bolster their attacking options, with Arnautovic emerging as a preferred candidate. Initial contacts between Sevilla and the player’s representatives have allegedly taken place to explore a possible January transfer.
Sevilla’s interest in Arnautovic stems from their current struggles in La Liga, where they sit 15th after 15 matches. The team’s offensive woes are particularly concerning, with only 10 goals scored across all competitions. The club believes Arnautovic could provide the firepower needed to compete for a European spot.
Arnautovic’s 2024/25 season at Inter has been underwhelming, with limited appearances in Serie A and Champions League. His contract with Inter is set to expire on June 30, 2025, and the club is unlikely to exercise the renewal clause in the agreement signed in summer 2023.
For Inter to avoid a financial loss, any potential transfer fee for Arnautovic would need to be at least €2.725 million. This figure accounts for the remaining amortization of his transfer fee and six months of wages.
