Hellas Verona will be without Martin Frese, along with long-term absentees Juan Cruz and Abdou Harroui, as they prepare for their upcoming match against Udinese. However, captain Darko Lazovic is set to return after being substituted during last week’s victory over Bologna. Coach Paolo Zanetti indicated that Lazovic was withdrawn due to illness, suggesting he will be ready to start on Saturday.
In the attacking lineup, Amin Sarr and Benfica loanee Casper Tengstedt are likely to reunite, with Tengstedt currently leading Verona’s scoring chart with six goals in Serie A this season.
On the other side, Udinese’s top scorer Lorenzo Lucca has been in fine form, netting three goals in his last four league matches—matching his total from the previous twelve games. One more goal would see the Italy international equal his tally for the entire 2023-24 season.
Udinese will still be missing Oier Zarraga, Keinan Davis, Lautaro Giannetti, and first-choice goalkeeper Maduka Okoye. However, Danish defender Thomas Kristensen has recovered from a virus, providing coach Kosta Runjaic with several attacking options. Veteran striker Alexis Sanchez has recently returned to action, while Brenner and Iker Bravo are also available to support Lucca and Florian Thauvin in the forward line.
