Serie A | Torino 0-2 Bologna: Match Report

Start

Bologna continued their excellent form in Serie A, securing their sixth win in eight matches with a 2-0 triumph over Torino at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino. The victory was sealed by goals from super-sub Thijs Dallinga and Tommaso Pobega, despite an early penalty miss.

The match began with controversy as Bologna were awarded a penalty following a VAR review when Borna Sosa tackled Emil Holm. However, Torino goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic saved Santiago Castro’s spot-kick to keep the scores level.

Torino suffered a setback when Sebastian Walukiewicz was stretchered off with breathing difficulties. Bologna dominated possession and created several chances, with Remo Freuler and Castro coming close to breaking the deadlock.

The visitors’ pressure intensified after the hour mark, with Pobega’s long-range effort striking the crossbar. The breakthrough finally came when substitute Dallinga scored with his first touch, tapping in Juan Miranda’s assist just 42 seconds after coming on.

Bologna doubled their lead through Pobega, whose shot went through Dallinga’s legs. Initially ruled out for offside, VAR confirmed the goal stood.

This result puts Bologna level on points with last season’s tally under Thiago Motta at this stage, highlighting the impressive work of current manager Vincenzo Italiano.
