Serie A | Parma v Verona: Probable starting lineups

Start

Both Parma and Verona are grappling with defensive concerns as they prepare for their upcoming Serie A encounter. Parma’s backline took a hit when Botond Balogh was forced off early in their recent match against Inter. While Yordan Osorio’s return could provide a timely boost, his lack of playing time since September raises questions about his match fitness.

In attack, Parma may see the return of Adrian Benedyczak, who missed the previous game due to illness. However, Adrian Bernabe remains sidelined with a hamstring injury until the new year. The absence of Gabriel Charpentier and Mateusz Kowalski due to long-term injuries could open the door for Anas Haj Mohamed to start, following his impressive performance against Lazio.

Verona’s defence will be bolstered by the return of Diego Coppola from suspension. However, the team faces a dilemma regarding long-standing centre-back Pawel Dawidowicz. After a series of poor performances, including being substituted at halftime in a 5-0 loss to Inter and conceding four first-half goals against Empoli, the Polish international’s starting position is under threat.

Injury woes continue for Verona, with Martin Frese out until at least February. On a positive note, experienced midfielder Ondrej Duda is nearing a return from a muscular problem, potentially providing a boost to the team’s midfield options.

Parma (4-2-3-1): Suzuki; Coulibaly, Del Prato, Leoni, Valeri; Sohm, Keita; Man, Haj Mohamed, Cancellieri; Mihaila

Hellas Verona (4-3-3): Montipo; Tchatchoua, Magnani, Coppola, Bradaric; Serdar, Belahyane, Harroui; Suslov, Tengstedt, Lazovic
