Serie A | Parma v Venezia: Probable starting lineups

Start

As Parma prepare for an important match against Venezia, the Crociati  find themselves in the midst of both incoming and outgoing moves. The club has agreed to send Woyo Coulibaly to Leicester City, while young goalkeeper Zion Suzuki has attracted interest from larger clubs.

On the incoming front, Parma have strengthened its defensive line with the acquisition of Alessandro Vogliacco from Genoa. The Italian defender could make his debut in todays match, as the team faces a defensive crisis with Botond Balogh recently sidelined due to a calf injury. Vogliacco joins fellow newcomer Mathias Lovik, a promising Norway Under-21 left-back signed from Molde, in bolstering Parma’s backline.

The injury woes for Parma extend beyond Balogh, with defenders Yordan Osorio and Alessandro Circati also unavailable. The team will also miss the services of Adrian Bernabe, Mateusz Kowalski, and Gabriel Charpentier due to various fitness issues.

In attack, Ange-Yoan Bonny remains Parma’s top scorer, despite not finding the net since November’s encounter with Venezia. The team will be looking to end their scoring drought and find more consistent goal-scoring form.

Venezia, Parma’s upcoming opponents, have their own injury concerns to contend with. Michael Svoboda, Richie Sagrado, Alfred Duncan, and Domen Crnigoj are all sidelined, while centre-back Giorgio Altare is doubtful due to a flexor issue.

A key figure for Venezia will be goalkeeper Filip Stankovic, on loan from Inter Milan. Since making his Serie A debut this season, Stankovic has impressed with his shot-stopping abilities, making a league-leading 51 saves in just 13 matches.

Parma (4-2-3-1): Suzuki; Del Prato, Valenti, Vogliacco, Valeri; Keita, Sohm; Man, Hernani, Mihaila; Bonny

Venezia (3-5-2): Stankovic; Idzes, Sverko, Haps; Ellertsson, Conde, Nicolussi Caviglia, Busio, Carboni; Oristanio, Pohjanpalo
