Serie A | Napoli v Venezia: Probable starting lineups

Start

Napoli are preparing for their upcoming Serie A fixture with a mix of positive and negative team news. While Alessandro Buongiorno remains unavailable for selection, the team receives a significant boost with the return of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to the starting lineup. The Georgian winger, who was limited to a substitute appearance against Genoa due to a knee sprain, is now fit to start.

Kvaratskhelia’s return may lead to tactical adjustments in Napoli’s attack. Either David Neres or Matteo Politano could make way to accommodate the returning star. Spearheading the offensive line will be Romelu Lukaku, who has been in impressive form against promoted clubs, contributing to eight goals in his last seven Serie A matches against such opposition.

The midfield is expected to maintain its consistency, with the established trio of Frank Anguissa, Stanislav Lobotka, and Scott McTominay likely to control the engine room for Napoli.

On the other side, Venezia continue to grapple with injury concerns. Their list of unavailable players remains unchanged, with Michael Svoboda (ACL), Alfred Duncan (calf), Richie Sagrado, and Antonio Raimondo (both thigh) all sidelined.

Following a rare victory in their previous outing, Venezia manager Eusebio Di Francesco is inclined to maintain a similar lineup. This approach should see Gaetano Oristanio and Gianluca Busio retaining their positions in support of lone striker Joel Pohjanpalo.

Napoli (4-3-3): Meret; Di Lorenzo, Rrahmani, Jesus, Olivera; Anguissa, Lobotka, McTominay; Neres, Lukaku, Kvaratskhelia

Venezia (3-4-2-1): Stankovic; Altare, Idzes, Sverko; Zampano, Andersen, Nicolussi Caviglia, Ellertsson; Oristanio, Busio; Pohjanpalo
